How to get sexy volumous hair the cheap way!

• Wash your hair using a volumizing Shampoo. It doesn't really matter if you don't have one, I don't think it makes much of a difference but it couldn't hurt. Be gentle when you wash your hair, if you scrub too hard you’ll scrub the volume right out of your luscious locks! And make sure all the product is completely out of your hair as this will weigh it down when dry.

• Brush your hair our gently until it is knot-free and then flip your head over so that your hair is upside-down. Blow-dry your hair until completely dry and flip it back over in one swift movement. Don’t brush it through at this stage because once again if you’re rough with it you’ll brush the body right out of it.

• While still warm from the hairdryer, gather all your hair at the very top of your head, closer to your forehead than where you would normally tie your hair back. Think ghetto hairstyles circa the 1990’s. Twist your hair into a sleek bun and secure using a hair-tie. Don’t create a messy bun as this will give your hair all kinds of funky creases and curls. Try to fix any fly-aways by weaving them into the bun but it doesn’t really matter at this stage because no one is likely to see you pre sexy volumous wavy hair. Leave this bun for a few hours or overnight. Hairspray every so often as you see fit.

• When leaving your hair down be sure to give your hair time to relax a few minutes before you want to style it. It will look a bit crazy when you first leave it down but within 5 minutes it will deflate. Use your hair straightener to fix any obvious creases or to accentuate/resculpt any waves you’re not happy with. Don’t straighten too much, however, as this will ruin the bouncy effect of the look.

• If your hair is naturally straight and flat (like mine) you may find that you will have to lightly backcomb the underneaths and hairspray to ensure the volume stays put all day. You won’t need to do much of this though as the bun will have given you most of the volume you need.
